NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/  eRounds, a pioneer in social clinical healthcare, today announced the creation of a spinal medical advisory board, led by renowned spinal surgeon, Lawrence Lenke, M.D. The board will be composed of four spine surgeons who best represent the larger body of surgeons eRounds serves with its image sharing and social collaboration technologies.

“The modern method of spine surgeon case conference communication is here on eRounds, where leaders of our field interact with a potentially global group of spine surgeons all for the betterment of our patients and profession,” Dr. Lenke says.

Dr. Lenke is recognized globally for his surgical treatment of pediatric and adult patients with various forms of spinal deformity. He is a leading authority on scoliosis, kyphosis, flatback syndrome, high-grade spondylolisthesis and major truncal imbalances due to various spinal deformities.

Other board members include:

  • Dr. Thomas J. Morrison III, a neurosurgeon at Peachtree Neurosurgery, specializing in neck and back surgery and the correction of scoliosis and other types of adult spinal deformity, with a sub-specialty in minimally invasive surgical techniques.

“We are delighted that eRounds is available for spine surgeons initially and we welcome these leaders as advisors,” eRounds Chief Medical Officer Brian O’Shaughnessy, M.D. says. “It’s easy to see how this network will impact all medical specialties with faster decision making and ultimately lead to better patient care globally.”

eRounds, an innovative social collaboration platform, empowers physicians, clinical staff and healthcare enterprises to share and discuss medical photos with trusted peers. The beta version of the mobile application is available exclusively for iPad and iPhone in the Apple iTunes App Store.
